For several years, Harley had the idea floating around to open up a coffee shop when the perfect opportunity to do so presented itself in early 2023, in the form of an invitation to share the existing space occupied by Crazy Beautiful Bella Pazza Salon. Hannah knew that the look and feel of the cafe would need to mesh well with having a hair salon attached to it, but also wanted it to feel fresh and new, and decided that French brasseries would be the perfect inspiration for the interior design. She then also used Summerville’s nickname of “The Flowertown In The Pines” as her inspiration for the name, Cafe de Fleur. With the concept and name decided upon, Harley then set to thoroughly research and learn as much as he possibly could about coffee and espresso, including meticulously testing out different beans and preparations until he came up with the perfect combo. During this time, Harley and his crew also began renovations on the space, and after many months of devoting every spare moment they both had to getting the cafe ready, Harley and Hannah finally got to put the “open” sign on the front door for the first time on Nov. 21, 2023.
